ALYSSA MILANO JOINS ACE MEDIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
– Acclaimed Actress/Producer/Entrepreneur to Help Steer Projects for NFL Players Association Owned Content Development and Production Company –
WASHINGTON D.C., October 5, 2016 – In a move that strengthens its growing ties to Hollywood, Athlete Content & Entertainment (ACE Media), a groundbreaking original content development and production company, announced today it has appointed Alyssa Milano to its board of directors. The successful actress, producer and entrepreneur will bring her unique insights and longstanding experience across several key industries to ACE Media.
A creative force in multiple arenas – entertainment, fashion, sports and media – Milano will play a primary role on the ACE Media board, participating in the company’s strategic development and major decision-making while helping to navigate a wide array of athlete-driven content projects and initiatives.
“I am very excited to embark on this new partnership with ACE Media, which provides a perfect outlet to combine my passion for sports with my many years of experience in the entertainment industry,” said Milano. “Sports stars are not only great athletes, but also entertainers, and I’m looking forward to advancing ACE Media’s vision and bringing vibrant new content to multiple platforms.”
ACE Media – the content arm of the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) – delivers unrivaled access to develop and package athlete-driven sports-lifestyle content projects for all media platforms, and offers full-service production capabilities. The media company is also leveraging the NFLPA’s exclusive group player rights and access to 2,000 active players to produce world-class content focused on athletes, whom fans would otherwise know only through their statistics and game highlights.
“This is really an incredible opportunity for every player,” said Kansas City Chiefs Pro Bowl Tight End Travis Kelce, who has worked with ACE on several projects, including the new E! series Catching Kelce. “To have someone with experience navigating Hollywood, and leveraging its crossover appeal with sports and business, is a tremendous asset for the NFLPA and ACE Media. What Alyssa Milano will bring to the table will help each and every one of us in showcasing our personalities beyond the field – and across different kinds of media.”
“Alyssa joining the ACE Media board comes at a critical time in our growth. With hundreds of unique projects featuring almost 400 athletes last year, we’re focused on expanding even further,” said Ahmad Nassar, President, NFLPA, and ACE Media Chairman of the Board. “Alyssa is the very best board member out there, with a unique track record bridging sports and entertainment. She’s going to help us develop even more great opportunities for athletes, programmers, publishers, brands and leagues to create content across all sports and media.”
Since launching one year ago, ACE Media has produced, created or facilitated more than 760 unique content projects featuring more than 375 athletes from a variety of sports including the NFL, NBA, NHL and U.S. Soccer. ACE Media also collaborated with 20 different media and sports companies to create content for distribution across television, digital, social and mobile.
“Alyssa is an absolute force of creativity and a terrific person, whose vast knowledge of the entertainment industry and passion for storytelling will greatly benefit ACE Media and athletes around the world,” said Scott Langerman, ACE Media CEO and Board Member. “We are off to a successful start and, now with Alyssa’s contributions, we’re poised for even more exciting growth. We’re thrilled to have her join our team.”
Among the content highlights of ACE Media’s first year are Catching Kelce (E!), Trading Playlists (Spotify), Take It To The House (Bleacher Report), The Players Voice Awards (National Basketball Players Association and Branding U (Above Average). Projects currently in development include several scripted and unscripted television projects for broadcast and cable, a variety of short-form digital series and a host of branded content intiatives.
